Workshop description:
Ever wonder what is actually happening inside the body when you stretch, strengthen, or recover from an injury? This workshop bridges modern movement science with movement practices such as yoga, pilates, strength training, and more to help teachers make more informed decisions for their clients.
We'll explore the anatomy and physiology behind mobility and strength, including active versus passive range of motion, how muscles contract and relax, concentric, eccentric, isometric, and isotonic muscle actions, and how different tissues respond to load. We'll also discuss common injury mechanisms, tissue healing timelines, and practical strategies for modifying movement practices to support recovery while building resilience.
Whether you're working with healthy clients or those returning from injury, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of how the body moves, adapts, and heals—helping you teach with greater confidence and evidence-based knowledge.
You can receive 2 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Hours when you attend this workshop.
