What is your background and experience?

I'm a global citizen, born in Nepal, raised in Japan and the USA, lived and worked in multiple countries along my journey of life. My multicultural and multiracial background has deeply influenced my journey of becoming who I am and the yoga teacher that I have become. I hold a master's degree in Sociology from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, where I discovered my profound love for yoga.
My adventures include backpacking across South East Asia, Central and South America, and living in diverse locations like Nicaragua, Peru, Hawaii, and South Africa. It was in South Africa that my yoga practice began, and from there, yoga enriched my travels
I am a perpetual student of yoga! Some of my experiences have included:
  • Extensive meditation trainings, including Vipassana

  • 200 and 300-hour yoga teacher training with Yogaworks LA.

  • Second 300-hour training on SmartFLOW method with Annie Carpenter

  • Certified SmartFLOW Teacher Trainer

  • Extensive Yoga Philosophy studies with Aimee Echo, who is an authorized Ashtanga teacher and a yoga therapist in Krishnamacharya lineage of Vini yoga who is based in Long Beach, California.

What is your yoga philosophy?

I believe yoga offers us tools to live life with greater skill and awareness. My practice extends beyond the mat, it’s a blend of physical movement, the study of yoga philosophy, and a genuine desire to serve my community. Through these practices, I’ve come to understand the true power of yoga lies in how we live it, not just how we practice it on the mat. My intention is to embody yoga in my daily life, rather than letting it be something that happens only on the mat.

As an Accessible Yoga Ambassador and Trauma-Informed Yoga teacher, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space for all. Training with Threes Physiyoga and my experience from shadowing a physical therapist, my passion lies in teaching private or semi-private yoga, especially to an aging population and those dealing with chronic pain or injuries. I also enjoy teaching myofascial release for balanced and functional movement, and restorative yoga for the nervous system.
My goal is to create a safe and welcoming space for individuals of all backgrounds, abilities, and experiences. Through my teachings, I strive to empower others to discover the transformative potential within themselves.
